What is Islam...

The word Islam comes from the word "سلام" "sa-lam" which means peace and can also make reference to submission and obedience for God and his orders.

So the first conclusion about Islam that it's a peaceful relegion. And Let no one foul you to think anything else.

Now that we know what it means, let's discover its bases (that we will visit with more details in further posts)!

Islam is composed from 5 worship basics and 6 faith basics.

5 worship basics:  

1. The recognition of "Allah" as a unique God and Mohamed as a prophet
2. Making the prayer
3. Zakat (will detail it further in later posts, in short it means giving away to poor people money and food)
4. Fasting of Ramadhan (Ramadhan is an arabian month) 
5. Visiting Mekkah for those who can (Mekkah is a city in Saudi Arabia) 

6 faith basics: 

1. Believing in the existing of Allah as unique God
2. Believing in the existing Angels as creatures made by Allah
3. Believing in all the books that Allah sent to his messangers as Bible for Christians and Hebrew for Jewichs
4. Believing in all prophets and messangers sent by Allah
5. Believing in resurrection day
6. Believing in destinty wether Good or Bad
